Gold Wedding Bands

You ever hear the song by former husband and wife and lovers Tammy Wynette and George Jones? In a pawn shop in Chicago On a sunny summer day A couple gazes at the wedding rings There on display She smiles n’ nods her head As he says, “Honey that’s for you, It’s not much, but it’s the best That I can do” Golden rings (golden ring) with one tiny little stone Waiting there (waiting there) for someone to take you home By itself (by itself) it’s just a cold metallic thing Only love can make a golden wedding ring Well, folks let me tell ya- our desired and heart felt desire to elope in NYC that we had been planning for the past year came to an absurd halt due to our worlds changing climate. Dreams crushed, hopes of a little girls dreams faded down the back road as taillights fade in the dark. It was hopeless. Then redemption… we bought these gold wedding bands in a pawn shop barely open due to covid. During our states reopening on the first day we found ourselves together in a pawn shop and found our perfect wedding bands. I never could decide on a diamond but fell in love with the simple classic and timeless gold band. We sat on our front porch and prayed about what and where to get eloped and decided we didn’t want anyone wearing masks to be apart of our day, eleminating any local venues minus our farmhouse. Our porch had crossed my heart years ago at the mention of the idea to get hitched at the place we spend so much time talking and praying and eating our families meals – I think then the Good Lord set a vision in my heart. This is our love story. To the incredible people of the Rogue Valley who helped stitch this lil ole elopement together, we could not adore you more. Enjoy this beautiful videography created by Elisa of our elopement.
